BandGuesser is operated by Software Psychonaut LLC.

What we collect

• Session cookie (“_band_synonym_session”): stores your game progress for the current browser session. Cleared when you close the browser.
• Streak cookie (“_bg_streak”): a signed cookie that stores your daily play streak and monthly freeze count. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, one-year expiry. Contains no personal data.
• Aggregate statistics: per-day counts such as total plays, success rate, and share clicks. Stored in our database keyed by date, never by user.
• Feedback: when you submit feedback on a puzzle, we store your 👍/👎 rating and any optional text you write. Not linked to an identifier.

What we don't collect

• No accounts, no email, no password.
• No IP address logging beyond standard web-server access logs (kept for a short operational window and never joined to game activity).
• No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Segment).
• No device fingerprinting.

Third-party services

Google AdSense: not currently active on BandGuesser. When we enable display advertising, Google and its partners may set cookies to measure ad performance and show relevant ads. We will update this policy and add a consent banner before ads go live.

Your rights

Because BandGuesser does not store personal data against any identifier, there is nothing user-specific to access or delete on our side. You can clear the cookies above from your browser settings at any time to reset your game state and streak.

Changes to this policy

We will update the “Last updated” date at the top whenever we change this policy. Material changes (e.g., enabling advertising) will also be announced in-app.
